The new headquarters in details

The building of Cajamar was delivered in the end of May last year, when they completed the finishing work of the administrative building.

The design cleverness, and its proper implementation have transformed the building into a reference when it comes to unify functionality, aesthetics and sustainability in a industrial plant.

“We received visits from other companies and builders interested in knowing our new facility”, says Nei Contieri, responsible for the Engineering and project co-author, alongside to Paulo Gonçalves. “We did not seek references or copied other projects. Our idea has always been to identify the best existing market solutions. What is the best cover technology? From assemblage? Of floor? The challenge was to integrate all this into one single project. This final result that Visitors come to know”, said Nei.

Some details to know and numbers of the project:

# The lot has a total of 69 thousand square meters. and the constructed area is 40 thousand square meters, being 6 thousand square meters the administrative building, done in brickwork, 34 thousand square meters the production unit, that adopted the pre molded system. the industrial area was planned in such a way to permit feasible ( rational ) production flow. She’s subdivided in three big main places: primary materials storage, production and finalized products storage.

# The new space counts on a 17 thousand square meters of environmental protection area. Covered with native land, the riparian woods that protects the stream that passes in the back of the lot. Wild animals, such as the small deer have been spotted there.

# The total volume of concrete used in the construction was of 13 thousand cubic meters, enough to construct 600 houses of 120 square meters each. If all the tubing used in the construction was juxtaposed for around 6 km.

# With 16 meters of height, the storage facility of primary material is the facility with the tallest structure of the new headquarters. Its floor was projected to support up to 8 tons per meter squared. The units of production and storage are 11 meters stall respectively. The floor of the production area supports 6 tons per meter squared, and the floor of the storage area for finished products supports 4 tons per meter squared.

# The average consumption of energy will be of 1,200 kWh. In case of a lack of energy from the main grid or for use in peak hours the unit counts on four diesel generators. With the capacity to generate 1,600 kWh, they are capable of maintaining the graphic in operation uninterruptedly.

# Technical and architectural solutions contribute to the energetic efficiency. The windows of the management building have windows with reflective film of ultraviolet(UV) rays. As well as protecting the people from solar radiation, the 80% refraction from the rays guarantee a 30% saving from the demand of the air conditioning system. The installation of gravitational exhausts in the roof of the industrial area contributes to the ventilation system. All the illumination from the building is made with economic lamps. Due to the architectural characteristics that allow focal lamps in the management area LED lamps were used.

# The coverage of the industrial unit uses thermo acoustic roof tile, produced in order of an aluminum 85% and zinc 15 % compound. look like sandwich, they are formed by two plancs of counterfit intersized with rock clothing. Each one of these pieces was designed and produced by the machines brought into the construction place.

# Despite the water supply from Sabesp, the unit has artesian well. With 350 meters deep, is able to supply the plant with 15 thousand liters of water per hour. The water is drinkable. And to store this water there is a 240 thousand liters box . Another achievement of Cajamar is the Water Effluents Treatment Station. All the effluents generated by that unit will be sended back to nature – Through Ribeirao dos Cristais (Cristal Creek) free of dirt or dross.

# To the loading and unloading movement, the unit counts with two docks lowered, and seven lifting platforms.

# There are two parking areas, one underground with 70 parking slots and another in ground level with 30 slots.

# The new headquarters reserved a space for the museum of Gonçaves, which has a collection of objects including a Platina printer and an easel of types.

# Another charm, of this new address is the truly sculpture in wooden-stone that assembles one of the walls of the social entry. Result of artisan handcraft work, the front part was build setting up – one by one of the stones manually.

# Approximately 15 companies worked in the construction process. In the peak of the construction there were approximately 200 professionals working in several fronts(civil construction, hydraulics, electric, refrigeration, pre-molded, roofing and industrial floors). One curiosity is that approximately 30 of these professionals were haitians that made the resting area of the construction of Gonçalves a bilingual space. With french as their main language, few were fluent in portuguese.

# Security also deserves to be mentioned: in 33 months of construction there were no records of accidents.
