ESG
Environmental, Social and Governance
Ambiental, Social e Governança
We are committed to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices. These dimensions are crucial for fulfilling our purpose of “packaging the best of the world for a better world.”
We believe this approach fosters sustainable growth, positive impact, and shared value creation for customers, employees, suppliers, communities, and the environment.
We maintain an Integrated Management System and hold the most respected certifications in quality, product safety, environmental management, and ESG.
Environment

Energy
We have been investing in initiatives to reduce energy consumption. In the production area of our Brazilian factory, we replaced over 4,000 fluorescent lamps with LED alternatives, which consume less energy. This change also reduced waste, as LED bulbs last much longer. At our Mexican plant, in addition to LED lighting, natural lighting is used through skylights, and motion sensors activate lights only when people are present in low-traffic areas.
The ongoing process of technological modernization also enhances energy efficiency, as more advanced equipment consumes less power during operation.
Additionally, we prioritize acquiring new equipment with a CO2-neutral seal, meaning the manufacturer has invested in projects to offset the carbon footprint generated during the manufacturing process.
In 2023, we reduced energy consumption by 13% in kWh compared to 2022.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Liquid Waste Management
In this process, every 10 kilograms of Class I liquid waste is converted into just 1 kilogram of Class I solid waste (sent for co-processing in cement industry kilns) and 9 kilograms of Class II liquid waste (non-hazardous), which is treated at our ETE.
Approximately 90% reduction in hazardous liquid waste disposal through in-house physical-chemical treatment.

Water Reuse

Biodigester
39,190.69 lbs of organic material processed and digested by the biodigester in 2023—an ecological contribution equivalent to planting 470 trees or reducing gasoline consumption by 3,788.08 gallons.
Comunities
Social Responsibility
Education and healthcare are two essential areas for improving the lives of socially vulnerable individuals and contributing to their development. That is why these are the primary focuses of our community investments, supporting projects from various organizations in Brazil and Mexico.
Funthermore, we conduct internal donation campaigns, with strong participation from our employees.
We also engage in humanitarian aid efforts during emergencies such as floods and earthquakes.
Employees
Diversity and Inclusion
We believe that embracing diversity enriches us as individuals and professionals. We have a Diversity Policy and are actively fostering a corporate culture that includes, respects, and embraces differences. Our current main focuses are increasing the representation of women at all levels of our company and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
In Brazil, for example, we employ more than a dozen hearing-impaired professionals, and 16 employees have completed an in-house Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) course. Additionally, we provide Libras interpretation services at all collective events.
Regarding gender pay equity, we prepare an annual Transparency Salary Report, a mechanism established by the government to promote equal pay between men and women.
Development and Recognition
Technical and behavioral training courses are part of our agenda for the professional development of our workforce. Regarding career opportunities, we highlight our Job and Salary Plan, which has contributed to increasing the number of promoted employees, and our internal recruitment program for filling vacancies. These initiatives are some of the ways we recognize and value our professionals.
Health and Well-being
Suppliers
Suppliers are fundamental partners in our operations. From raw materials and supplies to various services, they ensure essential provisions for our activities. In these relationships, we seek organizations that, in addition to quality and commitment, share our values and ESG best practices, striving to create shared value for our companies and the communities we serve.
